The Fellows on a Royal Tour to Oniru of Iru Land
It was a memorable day for the fellows of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy as they visited the heroic HRM AbdulWasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, CON (Abisogun II), the Oniru of Iru Land.
The visit began with a generous tour of the magnificent palace by the Baale of Igbosere, Chief Issa Salau. Chief Salau engaged them on the history of the kingdom and the previous kings. He also introduced us to the King’s persona and gave a detailed description of his life and endeavours so far. He further described in details the practices of the kingdom.
The fellows were privileged to explore the reception and work areas, garden, offices and Kabiyesi’s glorious sitting palace.
During the Fireside Chat with the King, he brought us into his past life in the public service before the monarchy, having been in the public sector for 20 years and being a three-time Commissioner of Lagos State.
His speech to the fellows was a combination of inspiration, drive and encouragement towards excellence, discipline and focus.
