Fellows of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) have successfully completed an intensive five-day course at Lagos Business School (LBS), wrapping up with a closing session that highlighted the practical application of theoretical knowledge to real-world ethical challenges in Nigeria.
Throughout the program, Fellows participated in collaborative breakout sessions, working in teams to analyse and propose innovative solutions to ethical dilemmas in Nigeria’s agricultural, manufacturing, and mining industries.
In a key exercise bridging academic frameworks with real-world complexities, they applied the McKinsey 7S Framework to state ministries, exploring its role in enhancing organisational effectiveness and strategic alignment within government institutions.
During the certificate presentation ceremony, session facilitator Dr. Franklin Ngwu commended the Fellows for their analytical rigour and dedication.
“Our collaborative efforts have not only bridged the gap between theory and real-world challenges but also set a new benchmark for ethical leadership in Nigeria” he remarked.
Dr. Ngwu further emphasised the enduring value of the partnership between Lagos Business School and LJLA, stressing the importance of sustained collaboration to nurture the next generation of transformative leaders.
Reaffirming this commitment, LJLA Executive Secretary Mrs. Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade stated, “At the Academy, we are dedicated to shaping well-rounded leaders who are not only knowledgeable but also equipped with the critical thinking and ethical mindset needed to navigate complex challenges. This course is another step in preparing our Fellows to lead with integrity, innovation, and impact”.
Reflecting on the experience, one of the Fellows, Afolabi Ojabowale shared, “This course has broadened my perspective on ethical leadership and strategic decision-making. The interactive sessions challenged us to think critically, collaborate effectively, and apply real-world solutions to complex issues. I leave here more confident and better prepared to make a meaningful impact in my field and community”.
